Water Challenge! [#1]

You will have more energy and lose pounds of fat!

— RULES FOR THE WATER CHALLENGE! —

1 Fill up a single jug or bottle or pitcher with your daily amount of water (SEE BELOW) in the morning. (Buy a jug of water & reuse that jug) You must finish the entire contents of your jug before you go to bed that night. PERIOD.

2 Do it for 10 days straight.

3 Finish all of the previous days water before you can start over with today’s water. That jug is your life line! Only water from the jug counts towards your Challenge. (Squeeze real lemons into the water if you like. Or add sliced cucumbers)

4 You can drink additional things. Just minimize the amount of coffee and soda and energy drinks (etc) during the Challenge. (I don’t expect you to just stop cold turkey…I’m realistic!)

5 Get a group of you to do it together!

CAN YOU COMMIT THE FULL 10 DAYS? SHOW ME!

HOW MUCH WATER?

Daily recommended water amount:

◊ Drink 1/2 ounce for every 1 pound of your weight, every day.

◊ That’s .033 liters per 1kg you weigh.

Examples:
150lbs. Half = 75. So 75 ozs each day
250lbs. Half = 125. So 125 ozs each dayMetric
68kg x .033 = about 2 liters day
90kg x .033 = about 3 liters each day
(NINJA TIP: For every 64ozs of water, I put 1/2 teaspoon of Himalayan or sea salt in it. WHY? Increase water intake requires more unrefined salt to force the water in the your cells. – NOT WHITE TABLE SALT! Squeeze 1/2 a lemon in to offset the salt taste. Click here for proof)

WHY AM I DOING THIS?

Resetting your body is all about undoing years of bad habits and less than perfect health choices. As you’ve heard a thousand times, drinking lots of water is critical. Quite honestly, the only way the rest of the Reset steps will work is if you keep your water intake up, nice and high.

WHAT’S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT WATER?

The Earth is 70% water. Your body is 80% water. It stands to reason that water is some pretty important stuff – right?  Water is the body’s transportation medium. It’s how it moves EVERYTHING around to different parts of your body…everything. Water is used to move nutrients to your 100 trillion cells in your body. Water is used to move waste & toxins from your cells to your kidneys, to leave your body. Water is used to wash fat from your body. These things have to
get out somehow, right? They don’t just evaporate away! So water moves good things around your body, and water moves waste and toxins and fat out. (Watch my weight-loss video)

**IF IN RENAL FAILURE OR CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN**

WHAT’S NOT WATER?

Soda Ingredients

Soda Ingredients

Many of us drink a lot of LIQUID each day…but we don’t drink a lot of WATER.

IMPORTANT – sodas & juice & energy drinks (etc) are not treated the same as water! Just because it’s a liquid does not mean that it’s water. You know this already – gasoline: it’s a liquid but drinking it is bad news, right? Look at the ingredients label on the
can of a soda or an energy drink. That liquid is made of those things: high fructose corn syrup – is that water? Caramel color – is that water? Phosphoric acid – how about that? If it does not say water (plain H2O) then your body treats that drink as a food…because that’s what it is!

If I take a hamburger, throw it in a blender, blend it up until its a liquid…that doesn’t make it water and your body will use that the exact same way as if you ate the burger. Your body will NOT use it to move nutrients around your body. And your body will NOT use it to wash toxins & fat out of your cells/body.

Pee Time!

Pee Time!

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

– You will pee more…Welcome the pee! That is how your body removes the toxins and the fat from your cells and your body. Help it out. I drink tons of water and I pee…deal with it! It’s temporary – the excess peeing will stop within a week. (Your pee will be very light yellow, almost clear – by the way)
(When you add the 1/2 teaspoon of pink Himalayan sea salt for every 64ozs of water, you pee a TON less. The sea salt causes your cells to absorb more of the water! Click here for Why!)

-For some – temporary: headache, bloating, & water retention (for a few days, then it passes and the magic happens!)
– You’ll have more regular, easier to pass, bowel movements
– More energy!
– You’ll be less hungry
– Many of you will lose an inch or 2 from your waist.
– Many of you will lose 5-10 lbs (REALLY!)
– Your skin will become more clear
– Less joint pain
– You’ll have less annoying body sweating (more water = less excess sweat!)
– A few of you will become bloated. That’s not because you are drinking too much water. It’s caused by a lot of gut activity now that you have the proper amount of water. That’s causing some gas, and it’s trapped. And of course it’s temporary.

FACT: When your body has a shortage of water, it takes water from less important places (joints) to use in more important place (brain).

LET’S GO!

This is #1 of the 8 Challenges to Reset Your Body. The goal is for you to adopt this level of water consumption as part of your new lifestyle, permanently. If you screw up one day, DON’T beat your self up. Just finish up what you missed, and start on the new days amount.
And remember, as soon as you complete this Challenge – start Challenge #2 as soon as you can.  Now….share this with a few people, go fill up your jug and BE WELL…

SUCCESS STORIES!

“I finished the 10th day of the water challenge yesterday. Starting weight 189.8/ Ending weight 189.6 (not as much as I would like to have seen). Starting waist size 39/ Ending size 37.5 (great feeling to lose almost 2 inches on the waist in 10 days!)”

    • Terry Givens July 18, 2013 at 3:33 pm

Yes David. Eat as normal on this 1st Challenge, and just add the 125 ozs of water throughout the day. 40 lbs will be a piece of cake man! I suspect by Challenge #6 you’ll be there. Be sure to like my Facebook fan page for daily updates (link to the right). YOU CAN DO THIS!

      • Amanda Miller March 30, 2014 at 12:17 am

i dont see your link, im wanting to loose like 150

          • Corno Ontana April 9, 2014 at 6:01 pm

You have no business giving people this kind of advice. Several case studies show that overloading water is dangerous and even deadly. I don’t know how can you sleep at night after giving people bogus advice. If anyone suffers medical problems from this, it’s on you.

          • Terry Givens April 10, 2014 at 10:17 am

Hi Corno. Thanks for your feedback. We have a difference of opinion. I’m a licensed nutritionist, and my case studies and many others before me, have proven that this amount of water is not “over loading”, and is in fact crucial at helping humans process nutrients and remove cellular wastes. A wise man once told me: Question EVERYTHING! Case studies aside – try the Challenge for yourself, and see what you experience. BE WELL

      • Dennis August 24, 2014 at 11:57 pm

are you also mixing in workouts to lose the 5-10lbs from the water challenge or is this strictly just the water challenge?

        • Terry Givens August 25, 2014 at 4:40 pm

Hi Dennis. Great question. If you want better results, for sure workout or continue working out. The more the do, the better it will be! Good luck

          • Tom Weberding January 7, 2016 at 7:19 pm

I have high blood pressure. Do I need to put the salt in my water?

      • Karen June 6, 2015 at 2:43 am

I have started about 7 days now and I have actually gained close to 12 lbs, i’m drinking 2 liters of water and went from 172.6 lbs on the 30th May 2015 to 183.4 lbs on 6th June 2016, what am i doing wrong I go to the gym, do Aqua Aerobics. Mon – Fri. What must i do.

        • Terry Givens June 6, 2015 at 7:49 am

Hi Karen! Fear not. That is very common for some. If you have been dehydrated (as I was) for many years, your body is temporarily using that precious water to do deferred maintenance.
It’s a good thing! It usually passes within a week (and as you work your way through the first 4 Challenges) Join my support group and keep us posted

      • nathalie July 5, 2015 at 7:11 pm

        Hi terry,
I just started the water challenhe yesterday I just want to make sure I’m drinking the right amount. I weigh 175 lbs and yesterday I drank 100 oz, is that too much?

        • Terry Givens July 6, 2015 at 7:04 am

Hi Natalie. 175 / 2 would means 88 oz of water. YOU CAN DO IT!

        • Hunter September 27, 2015 at 7:38 pm

Hi, I’m 15 and I am just looking to shed a few pounds and lose my belly fat and man boobs. I’ve struggled with it a long time and I am fed up, and embarrassed to take off my shirt anywhere. Will this help? Can you help keep me on track? Is there a certain plan for things like this? Thanks, sorry for all the questions.

          • Terry Givens October 6, 2015 at 5:24 pm

Hi Hunter. You’re in the right place!

  2. Diane August 8, 2013 at 7:20 pm

I want to lose a total of 70 lbs. Anyone who knows me, knows I eat well 90% of the time and yet I have fought weight issues my ENTIRE life, so when I heard about you, I jumped at the opportunity to join up with you. I am motivated, hard working and willing to do whatever it takes. This should be really interesting. I will add, that up until 3 months ago, I worked out for at least 1 1/2 hours 3 times a week but after all these years of disappointment, I, for the first time in over 20 years, stopped exercising. I own 2 businesses now and I work many hours more than 40 a week. I just want you to know, I am putting a lot of faith into your system. HELP!!

    • Terry Givens August 16, 2013 at 3:14 pm

Thanks for sharing Diane. I’m glad that you have the fighters heart that you have! My cousin lost over 100lbs doing these Challenges over a year. This…Works. And if you don’t give up, I won’t give up on you! be sure to join my Cleanse support group so I can follow your progress! https://www.facebook.com/groups/CleanseSupportGroup/

      • Terry Givens April 1, 2014 at 2:18 am

YES! Congrats. See what happens which these Challenges now

  3. Lisa August 23, 2013 at 2:42 am

Hello, I’m actually going to do the veggie cleanse. I was wondering if there are any flavored waters that are acceptable? I’m not really familiar with any, but thought that that might make a difference in how enjoyable it would be to drink the required amount of water.
    Thanks.

    • Terry Givens August 26, 2013 at 3:36 pm

Congratulations Lisa! Flavor your water by adding lemon juice or chopped cucumbers etc to it. I’m afraid of the chemicals used to flavor those waters!

      • Paula B February 12, 2014 at 12:14 am

Day four of the water challenge, feeling SO bloated and have really bad, uncomfortable gas. But the good news is my complexion looks great! When can I look forward to the bloats and GSD to go away?

        • Terry Givens February 12, 2014 at 4:57 pm

Hi Paula. Congratulations on your progress. We can assume you have gas and bloating because the water is starting to dissolve away some old, impacted foods on your insides. As that get more under control, you’ll get to normal with bloating and gas. join my cleanse group for more questions and tips! https://www.facebook.com/groups/CleanseSupportGroup/

          • Paula B February 16, 2014 at 12:05 am

            Thank you, Terry!

      • Kristen May 2, 2016 at 6:54 am

Hello. Anyway I can add limes? Ever since I have had my children I don’t get along with lemons or cucs.

        Thanks

        • Terry Givens May 2, 2016 at 8:31 am

Hi Kristen. Yes. You can put lemons, limes, or any fruit and vegetable in your water. You should join my support group to post your progress and get more tips!

  4. Dave September 12, 2013 at 1:25 am

Hey Terry, so I don’t drink much soda or energy drinks, but I tend to have tea in the mornings and go out and have alcoholic beverages with some friends at night, do I need to cut back on any of this while I drink my 95oz of water? By the way my drink is rum and soda water, does carbonation make our bodies think water is food as well? Thanks!

    • Terry Givens September 12, 2013 at 8:50 pm

Great question Dave. 1) you don’t need to change anything about what you drink, other than ADD your 95oz of water daily.

      2) Carbonated water does not count towards your 10 day water challenge. Just plain water please. The carbonation (carbon dioxide gas) puts more gas in your belly and might make ya belch. Act accordingly!

      • Susan Giles November 16, 2015 at 7:19 pm

I drink plain carbonated water all the time and gas and belch are not a problem. Body is probably used to it. Does the seltzer water still not count towards water intake?

        • Terry Givens November 16, 2015 at 8:39 pm

Hi Susan. Again, just plain water counts during these 10 days. Try the system without deviating and see how it works for you! You can do it!

  5. Beth December 13, 2013 at 12:55 am

I work all day and cant carry around my jug. Ive been pouring the water from my jug into a water bottle and refilling it as soon as its empty; does this count?? I hope so I’m on day four and hope this is still counting!

    • Terry Givens December 13, 2013 at 5:56 pm

Hi Beth. As long as you are drinking your proper amount of water, i like it! keep at it!

  6. arval headrick January 19, 2014 at 5:23 pm

I heard another this at FB rehabbing bootcamp from Terry and heard I can get a 1 hour coaching call.

    • Terry Givens January 19, 2014 at 6:01 pm

Thanks Arvel. I’ll pick one person tomorrow. Good luck!

  7. Beverly Bea-Reed January 19, 2014 at 11:49 pm

Hey Terry, I had a hard time on the third day. But I’m still going strong. I feel lighter. *¿*.

    • Terry Givens January 20, 2014 at 12:08 am

Love it. I’m proud of you!

  8. Deanne January 20, 2014 at 4:05 am

Hey, Terry, any problem with the water consumption to include chewing and swallowing ice while drinking the ice water?

    • Terry Givens January 20, 2014 at 5:04 am

Hi Deanne. No problem with that. Have at it!

  9. Andrew Brown January 20, 2014 at 11:52 pm

Hi Terry. Doing the salad challenge, and for me, that is a challenge! Any issue with my salad being blended into a juice? Nothing but 100% natural fruit, veggies and nuts going into the blender. Good health my friend.

    • Terry Givens January 20, 2014 at 11:55 pm

Hi Andrew. Why not just eat the salad? Is there a reason?

  10. RR January 30, 2014 at 6:07 pm

Hi Terry on the 10 day water challenge if you are unable to complete your water 4 days in a row that means you should probably start over correct? I did great 6 days
straight but the first 4 were hard due to working long long hours and I didn’t really have the freedom of running to the rest room due to the environment I was in.

    • Terry Givens January 30, 2014 at 6:27 pm

      Hi RR!

Great question. Yeah, I’d shoot for 10 days straight of reaching your water goal. (You’re trying to make it a life habit) you can do it!

  11. RR January 31, 2014 at 12:51 am

    Thank you

  12. Nikki February 11, 2014 at 12:38 pm

I already consume at LEAST 64 oz. water per day. I am not sure if that is enough to lose weight.

    • Terry Givens February 11, 2014 at 3:04 pm

Hi Nikki. 1) start any challenge any day you want. 2) it’s not about tracking your weight. It’s about getting healthier. Stop making excuses my friend. Get a jug and go 😉
If The Water Challenge is already easy for you, them start on the higher challenges!

  13. Brandy March 5, 2014 at 4:15 am

Doing the water challenge. Drinking just water makes me want to throw up, can I add crystal light to it? Or does that make a difference?

    • Terry Givens March 5, 2014 at 7:06 pm

Good for you to look for a way around this obstacle Brandy. Def not Crystal light (that’s a pure chemical creation). try these:
      – squeeze fresh lemon water in it (not the plastic lemon bottle junk)
      – add chopped cucumber or strawberry, etc to it

once you do one of the cleanse on my site, your taste buds will literally Reset, and you’ll need less taste bud “stimulation”

  14. Melissa Griggs March 22, 2014 at 4:19 pm

Can you do 1 and 2 challenge at the same time. Going to start this on Monday so would love to know if you can.

    • Terry Givens March 22, 2014 at 4:52 pm

Hi MELISSA. You can do any or all of the 1st 4 Challenges at once (hint – you will end up making them a part of your daily life, forever!)

      • Melissa Ross July 13, 2015 at 12:10 pm

        Hi. Terry,
I’m on day 4 of the water challenge and feel great but haven’t really seen any changes yet. My question is I’m currently at 183 lbs after having two kids in two years and I want to reach 125. Is this a possible goal with the challenges and what type of workouts do you recommend

        • Terry Givens July 14, 2015 at 11:12 pm

          Hi Melissa

There are 8 Challenges. It’s all part of a system. Do them all (takes 5 months) and watch the magic happen! Watch the video under “What is Reset” YOU CAN DO IT!

  15. Nicole March 26, 2014 at 3:31 am

Terry i just started the 10 day water challenge its my third day, just out of curiosity why is it only 10 days and after 10 days what do you do to keep up the hard work and results?

  16. Shemeika March 26, 2014 at 3:19 pm

Hi Terry, I suppose to drink 97oz but I’m drinking the whole gallon, is that ok?

    • Terry Givens March 27, 2014 at 4:08 pm

The more the better. Your body knows how to flush the excess water!

  17. Kimberly March 27, 2014 at 2:07 am

I’m in, hope I can get others to join me I need all the help I can get.

  18. Tynique Tillery March 28, 2014 at 7:10 pm

    Hey Terry,

I’ll let you know in 10 days how it worked out…although I hope I don’t lose even 1 pound 🙂

Best of luck. Join my cleanse support group!

  20. YOUNGININ March 29, 2014 at 10:25 pm

I can’t see part of your explanation on what is water. I drink a lot of water but add a few drops of Mio flavoring. Is this OK?

    • Terry Givens March 30, 2014 at 12:30 am

Great question. Definitely do not add Mio or other chemical based flavoring to your water. Try adding fresh lemon juice, or chopped cucumbers. Yum!

  21. Danielle March 30, 2014 at 6:27 pm

I am new to this! I am going to do the water challenge… Do I keep doing this to I reach my goal or do I move on to challenge 2 on week two? Can I just do the water challenge until my goal is met? Is that safe?

    • Terry Givens April 9, 2014 at 8:29 am

Great question Danielle. The goal is to continue drinking that amount of water, forever. If you like the benefits, keep it up!

  22. Vicki March 31, 2014 at 11:25 am

Can u please email me so I can communicate with you I have a few questions and can’t post here please thank u so much I need some help

  23. Brenda March 31, 2014 at 10:51 pm

I was wondering how much water I would have to drink if I weigh 235lbs?

    • Terry Givens April 1, 2014 at 2:13 am

      Hi Brenda. 235 / 2 = 117.5 = 118 oz. Just call it a cool gallon…now go!

  24. Nathan April 1, 2014 at 12:20 am

I also started challenge #1 today. Keep posting your results people, I want to make sure this really works.

    • Terry Givens April 1, 2014 at 4:22 pm

Start the water challenge today! I suspect one of the cleanses will help you the most, eventually

  26. Jeremy April 2, 2014 at 6:41 am

I’m starting the water challenge tomorrow! I’ve been cooking healthy and working out 2 hours 5-6 days a week, I’m on week 5 now and have lost 37lbs. I don’t get enough water how it is but at my weight I’d have to drink around a gallon and a half a day…I’m guessing the more you weigh the harder this challenge is!

    • Terry Givens April 4, 2014 at 11:42 am

Congratulations Jeremy! The more you weight, the more rewarding it is! Keep it up, my friend….

  27. Ang April 2, 2014 at 3:08 pm

I am wanting to loose about 10 lbs and want to start the challenge. What amount should I be drinking? I try to limit myself to one coke a day if I drink one. I’m 5’2″ and between 148 & 152 lbs depending on the day. Any advise?

    • Terry Givens April 4, 2014 at 11:44 am

      Great job Ang!

You divide 152 by 2 = 76. 76 ounces per day. Use 1 jug. Fill it up daily, and start today! You can do it…

  28. Nelson Langley April 5, 2014 at 2:49 am

    Tap water will do?

Hi Nelson. Tap water is better than nothing. Even though Chlorine and Fluoride are great at killing bacteria in the water as it’s piped to our faucet, those little buggers add up over time! Do that best you can, just keep your water intake up!

  29. judy stark April 5, 2014 at 11:16 am

I am really disappointed. I have been drinking 80 ozs of water a day for 10 days and haven’t lost a pound. what is the deal! Monday I am starting the salad challenge. Please help!

    • Terry Givens April 5, 2014 at 5:46 pm

CONGRATULATIONS JUDY!! Everything is going fine. Don’t worry – you’re not the weirdo that water doesn’t work on 🙂 Let your body use the water as it sees most important right now. Maybe fat removal isn’t as important as washing away pre-cancer cells, right now. Or lubricating your joints is high priority, right now. Don’t worry, if you need to lose fat, your will. Stick to the plan and let your body Reset itself the way it feels best! BRAVO!

      • Rachel February 1, 2016 at 6:02 am

Hi! I’m about 8 days into the water challenge and when I weighed myself this morning, I was 10 lbs. heavier! Very discouraged since I’m already overweight and need to lose about 30 lbs. anyway. Is this normal and will I eventually LOSE weight? Just so bummed!

  30. Barbara Grady April 7, 2014 at 5:29 pm

Started Challenge #1 Today. A friend and I are challenging together.

    • Terry Givens April 9, 2014 at 8:16 am

  31. Rachel April 8, 2014 at 1:00 pm

    I want to start Challenge #1, but….

I’m on super high doses of steroids (Prednisone) and one of the major side affects is water retention and puffiness. I have it really bad in my face, neck, and stomach. Will drinking this large amount of water make me even bigger in these water retention areas??? I’m pretty unrecognizable in my face at this point and I look pregnant. 🙁

    • Terry Givens April 9, 2014 at 8:25 am

Hi Rachel, Great question. Check with a couple of doctors (not just 1) about their thoughts on water intake interaction with your medication. I’ll tell you this, the goal of the Challenges to have your body repair and heal itself enough so that you don’t NEED the steroids. Don’t let the fact that you’re taking a medication, prevent you from healing your body, so that you ultimately can wean OFF the medication. Give the Water Challenge a try, if you are uncomfortable, skip to the 21 Salad Challenge. Eventually, one of the Challenges will improve your test results, and your doc will start lowering your steroid doses. Water is critical to your 100 trillion cells. We’ll find a way to get it in there! Click the link above to join my Support Group! LET’S GO!

  32. Ashley April 9, 2014 at 4:10 am

Are there many people that actually lose weight during the first challenge? I just completed it and I actually gained a couple of pounds. I’m pretty discouraged since my goal was to lose weight.

    • Terry Givens April 9, 2014 at 8:15 am

Hi Ashley! Don’t give up. Depending on what else happened during your 10 days on the Water Challenge, your body may have detoxed some way other than losing weight (Start measuring your upper arms, waist, hips, and upper thighs. You may be losing inches somewhere and not know!) Did you notice any more energy? More regularity? Better sleep?

I can assure you hundreds of people are losing weight (it’s side effect of losing fat) join the 1200 posting on my Support Group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/CleanseSupportGroup

Don’t get frustrated, Stick to the plan and attack the 21 Salad Challenge! Be strong! You deserve this! OK???

  33. Meg April 9, 2014 at 12:15 pm

Hey! So I understand the need for so much water and that really is not an issue for me. What I don’t understand is why it has to come from the same jug everyday. Is that just so you see how much your drinking? Could I just use a 20 oz. bottle and refill it?

Looking forward to the change it will bring!

    • Terry Givens April 10, 2014 at 10:20 am

Hi Meg. You are exactly correct. It’s super easy to lose count of small bottles, all day or you find, at bedtime, you have more to go. IDEA: Feel free to fill up as many 20oz bottles in the morning, as you need, and work your way through them. Trust me, you’ll pace yourself better! Now…BRING IT!

  34. Kris Baxter April 9, 2014 at 1:42 pm

Can I add mio to the water or does it need to be plain water?

    • Terry Givens April 10, 2014 at 10:24 am

Hi Kris! No Mio, no mo! Why? We are only putting natural things in our body (plants or animals) Looking at the ingredients for Mio – i can’t figure out what plant or animal those chemicals are from. Try: Lemon juice, chopped cucumbers or strawberries, etc. CRUSH IT!

  35. Paul April 9, 2014 at 9:38 pm

Terry, I am thinking about starting your challenge. I work outside in the hot sun everyday. Because of this I drink bottles of water all day. My only question is do I need to change my water intake with the fluctuations of my body weight?

    • Terry Givens April 10, 2014 at 10:28 am

Hi Paul, good question! You certainly can progressively lower your daily water intake as you drop weight. But keep in mind, if you sweat a lot, then drink more water to make up for what you lose! Don’t worry about drinking too much, your body knows what to do with any excess. GO GET IT!

  36. David April 10, 2014 at 11:39 pm

Starting the water challenge today and looking forward to the positive changes. I have no energy in the mornings or when I get home from work. That just doesn’t work with three active girls running around my house looking for daddy.

    • Terry Givens April 11, 2014 at 8:42 pm

      Crush it!

  37. janet April 11, 2014 at 6:25 pm

I am 188 how much water?

    • Terry Givens April 11, 2014 at 8:40 pm

      Hi Janet. 188 / 2 = 94. 94 oz (little less then a gallon)….Get to it!

  38. Hannah April 11, 2014 at 7:54 pm

Is this safe to do while pregnant?

    • Terry Givens April 11, 2014 at 8:42 pm

Hi Hannah. Congrats on the bun in the oven. Water is critical to get nutrients into your body’s cells, remove waste, and remove fat. A baby might appreciate all those things too!

  39. Christy April 11, 2014 at 11:00 pm

So quick question? As you loose weight do you lessen your water consumption? I have heard that too much water can be just as bad for you as not enough.

    • Terry Givens April 15, 2014 at 5:16 am

Hi Christy. For sure adjust your water as your weight lessens! Your body know what to do with excess water! You should click the “How 2 Reset” link above and watch my video that explains how these Challenges: increase oxygen and water to your body’s cells and helps remove cell waste. Then use your own judgment instead of doing what other people tell you. Once you understand and believe – you’ll be full steam ahead! Leave a comment after you watch it please!

  40. Rae April 15, 2014 at 1:06 am

I’ve actually been doing this for about a month before I knew it was a thing, and I’ve lost 18 pounds. Just wanted to say that it does work for those who are skeptical 🙂

    • Terry Givens April 15, 2014 at 5:17 am

      Right on Rea. Congratulations!

  41. anita April 15, 2014 at 3:49 am

This water challenge sounds interesting and I’m excited to start!!

  42. Rachel April 17, 2014 at 9:38 pm

I am into my 4th day of the water challenge and I actually feel pretty great. And drinking so much water actually makes me not as hungry, I don’t have headaches like I uses to and my back doesn’t hurt a much. I’m so very happy I was told about Terry and I’m kind of excited about week 2 with the salad challenge.

    • Terry Givens April 19, 2014 at 8:18 am

That’s awesome Rachel. I’m glad that you were brave enough to try!

  43. christina April 21, 2014 at 8:03 pm

    • Terry Givens April 23, 2014 at 11:44 am

Hi Christina. Congratulations on starting! As your weight changes, so does your amount of water. Continue each previous Challenge as you progress. Soon you will have all the life habits you need to Reset every day!

  44. Sarah April 26, 2014 at 1:08 am

Hi Terry, I’ve been doing this water challenge and I’ve bloated. Will this go away, because I’m worried about the extra water weight women can carry.

  45. Alyssa June 3, 2014 at 10:44 pm

I’m not really sure on how to figure out how much water I need to drink. I’m 200 lbs and 5″1 1/2
    Can someone please help me?

Hi Teri, starting the water challenge..I am reseting my body

  48. Danielle June 26, 2014 at 1:28 pm

    Hi
I am on the last day of the water challenge and after weighing myself this morning I did not lose any weight. Is there any advise you have for my as now I am feeling very discouraged about continung on with the reat of the challenges. I have also been eating better during the water challenge. Please help!

    • Terry Givens July 2, 2014 at 7:03 am

Hi Danielle. Congratulations on completing the Water Challenge! Do i have advice? Yes I do…KEEP GOING! Commit to the first 4 Challenges. They are super simple and the effects in your body compound. It took more that 10 days to get to where you are now, right? Be kind to your body and give it more than 10 days for results 😉 PLUS! you may have lost inches on your arms and legs and waist (did you measure them per my Reset Tracking Sheet? – You’d be amazed.) Did you notice other effects (sleeping, energy, regularity…?) Don’t give up on your plan unless you have a better plan. I believe in you Danielle. Join my Free Cleanse Support Group and do this with all of our support! Ok?

  49. Kyle Z July 9, 2014 at 4:42 pm

    Hi Terry,

Started the water challenge to prep for an event in two weeks on recommendation of a friend. Quick question…to measure out the water, are we to use ounces or fluid ounces? I’ve been using a 23.7 fl. oz arrowhead water bottle to keep track of exactly how much I’m putting into my regular water bottle over the course of a day.

    • Terry Givens July 10, 2014 at 6:46 pm

Hi Kyle. Oz or fluid ozs are fine! The results will show for sure. As reminder, I do recommend you use 1 large jug for your full daily serving (vs a lot of smaller bottles or refilling)
Having your goal stare you in the face all day does wonders! Kick butt!

  50. Lisa O. July 13, 2014 at 2:02 pm

I finished the water challenge! I only lost 2 lbs, but have found that even after the 10 days I’m still filling my jug. I like that it has just become a habit (and a daily challenge) for me to finish the jug. Took a few days break because of a throat infection before starting challenge 2 (I wasn’t eating much of anything), but started it today with a fruit salad for breakfast. Hoping I can stick to this….I’m desperate to get back to my pre-baby weight! Thanks for the resources!

    • Terry Givens July 13, 2014 at 2:11 pm

Great job Lisa! Keep going and tracking your progress. Print the Reset Tracking Sheet and join my Facebook Support group and let us keep you fired up!

  51. Junebug July 14, 2014 at 6:07 pm

I started the water challenge late last night. I drank my 100oz in 3 hours. Now I have diarreha today. Did I drink it to fast? Is this a common side effect?

    • Terry Givens July 15, 2014 at 6:42 am

      Hi Junebug,
Not only is it common, but believe it or not, it can be a good thing. If someone has a lot of waste in their body, often times increasing water consumption will give their body a chance to to a hard fast immediate flush of toxins. Report back on how you do over the next 2 days (it took years to get to where you are right?). Stay strong and join my Cleanse Support Group to see feedback from thousands of others!

      • Junebug July 20, 2014 at 4:32 pm

Hi Terry, I’m on day 8. Things are going much better. Took my body a few days to get back to normal. I stand all day at work and I’ve noticed my legs don’t hurt like they used to. Also, I don’t have back aches in the morning. I still feel like I’m peeing all the time. Definitely gonna continue the water. No change in weight though.

        • Terry Givens July 21, 2014 at 9:32 am

Great update Junebug! I love that your daily pain is less. Next up, Salad Challenge!?

  52. Diane July 17, 2014 at 1:19 am

Okay Terry, It’s me again. I started out almost a year ago with the water challenge and somewhere along the line, I fell off. Still eating good foods, but not drinking enough water, which has ALWAYS been my problem. Tell me you haven’t given up on me…..I’M BACK and ready to try again!

    • Terry Givens July 17, 2014 at 6:30 am

Welcome back Diane! The good news is, it ain’t over till the fat lady sings…and I hear nothing. See you in my Cleanse Support group. Join in and let us keep on track!

  53. tom July 26, 2014 at 3:41 pm

Hey terry! I’m on day 6 of the water challenge and just stepped on the scale and was 3 lbs heavier! I’m eating way less than normal also and feeling good! Just wasn’t expecting the scale to go up! Any feedback would be great

    • Terry Givens July 27, 2014 at 1:42 pm

Hi Tom! That is normal for some, believe it or not. And it’s temporary. Your body may be holding on to this “precious new water” in case it stops. It will adjust and flush out within a week. Be sure to track your body measurements (per the Reset Tracking Sheet) you’ll notice changes there! Join my Support Group and keep me posted there! Stay the plan..

  54. Dee Bakalar August 14, 2014 at 2:16 am

  55. LaShane August 27, 2014 at 5:26 pm

Ok just read all of the info today and although it is Wednesday…I AM STARTING. Confession, I had lipo and year ago in my stomach and bum area, but my thighs have gained 2 more inches a piece. YIKES. I hope I have not destroyed my body. Is it possible to lose my thighs? I have always had “cottage cheese” thighs but I want to look and feel better than every. HELP Terry, I am feeling like this can not be true as every other program I have tried. ;( OK now that I am over my pitty party, my question is…do I start with a cleanse first (veggie) or do I start at the water challenge and work my way to a cleanse? Emailed your website to my co-workers and we are doing it together!! Praying Hard

    • Terry Givens August 27, 2014 at 6:41 pm

Great question and thank you for your honesty LaShane. I totally believe that you can lose your thighs. Do these 3 things:
      1) join my cleanse support group so we can back you up there
      2) watch video on this site under “How 2 Reset”
      3) start with the Veggie Cleanse for 10 days

      You own this….GO!

  56. Jaclyn September 6, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Just recently heard about this. Looking forward to starting the water challenge. I need to lose about 50 lbs. I’ve never been able to stick with any diet. I’m also super tired and have no energy… Its time to change that!

    • Terry Givens September 6, 2014 at 3:27 pm

Congratulations on making the commitment Jaclyn! Be sure to join my Support Group and keep up updated there. Let’s go!

  57. KKing November 13, 2014 at 4:35 am

Hi Terry, how would I be able to heal my thyroid? Is there a method to it?

  58. KKing November 13, 2014 at 4:36 am

    Thanks.

  59. Jay Y December 5, 2014 at 4:20 pm

    Hi Terry,

I am on my 3rd day of water challenge and I have been eating limited food along the way. I feel really great and lost about 2 lbs already. My stomach is also very bloated with gas.

    • Terry Givens December 7, 2014 at 7:42 pm

Great job Jay! Try a teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water to help your bloating. As your body adjusts to this optimal amount of water, that bloating will go away. Join my support group and keep us posted!

      • Jay Y December 16, 2014 at 7:23 pm

        Hi Terry,

It’s day 14 for me, and I have been eating regularly, and drinking 4-5L of water daily, and I have lost 10 lbs already, and my waist size went down to 34 from 36. Have lots of energy in me, my skin looks great!

Thanks a lot man!!! This really works. I am going to take the next challenge now!!

        • Terry Givens December 26, 2014 at 7:56 pm

Jay you’re a rock star! This is just the beginning. Keep spanking the Challenges!

  60. JaciO December 31, 2014 at 5:53 pm

    Terry,
In the past I did a challenge like this but I’ve never heard about adding the salt. I will be starting this challenge and possibly your other challenges. I’ve got a bet going with my brother whoever loses 60lbs by November has to visit the other for Christmas. Silly bet but we need to! My brother just got diagnosed with diabeties and I just know if I don’t do something now I’m next. I hope I can find the Will power to get through these first 10 days and make a change that will last a life time!!
    Jaci

    • Terry Givens December 31, 2014 at 6:08 pm

I have a strong feeling that you are going to win. It takes 5 months to do all 8 challenges. Join my support group too and we’ll keep you on track!

  61. Jason Pursley January 6, 2015 at 3:19 pm

Bravo on your site! THIS should be taught at every grade level in school and maybe our country as a whole would move up from 38th healthiest nation in the world. Japan is #1 and they drink the BEST water in the world, Kangen water.

  62. Salamander January 8, 2015 at 7:41 am

It’s ment to be. I work next to one of those water filling places. Today after work I went in and bought on of those 5 gallon blue jugs with a nozzle attached to it. ( I did this on a whim) It’s 11:35 pm in CA. I was just getting ready to log off FB and came across this article. I’ve actually recently lost quite a bit of weight. I think this will be a great cleanse. I really don’t want to loose anymore wight. Should I avoid this? My wife has some weight she would like to loose after 2nd kid. I’ll get her to join.

    • Terry Givens January 10, 2015 at 3:57 pm

Great decision! The water isn’t really about losing weight, it’s about super charging your cells to make them work better. Those with excess fat, will subsequently lose that excess fat. You should FOR SURE do it! Join my support group and keep us posted…YOU CAN DO IT!

  63. Susan January 8, 2015 at 5:38 pm

Can the amount of water you suggested just be regular bottle water? Is it necessary to use a pitcher? I will bring lemon to work to add to the bottle water.

    • Terry Givens January 10, 2015 at 3:59 pm

Great question Susan. Definitely use a pitcher/jug. You need to see your target of water all day long!

  64. pam January 9, 2015 at 6:24 pm

what about being at work, I can’t always have water with me, little lone going to the bathroom all the time, i work in retail, so how can I do this that would work for me, I really would like to do this

    • Terry Givens January 10, 2015 at 4:01 pm

Great question Pam. My reply is to find a way to improve your health, regardless of work challenges! Use your jug before and after work, set an alarm at work to drink a full glass every 45 minutes. Join my support group and we can help you along!

  65. ChrissyC January 10, 2015 at 3:14 am

Ok…I have a group of us that are starting the challange monday. We had a few questions…1. Can we do water and salad challanges at the same time? 2. I dont like lettuce or spinach or anything leafy…can I just eat the veggies?

    • Terry Givens January 13, 2015 at 1:26 am

Hi Chrissy. Way to lead a healthy movement. Yes you can combine any of the first 4 Challenges. You all should join my support group online!

  66. Brooke s January 13, 2015 at 12:23 am

I’m not “over weight” but I just have extra fat in places I dont want it. For a person who is 5’4 and 140 pounds will I see result in my weight or just how healthy j feel?

    • Terry Givens January 16, 2015 at 7:55 am

Hi Brooke. It will help your body carry more nutrients to your cells and more waste out of your cells. See what that results in for you!

  67. Randy Zimnoch January 14, 2015 at 6:19 pm

It’s on! I feel that I am fit however, it’s time to find out if I am healthy. Let’s do it!!! Great job yesterday presenting!

  68. heather January 19, 2015 at 6:35 am

I’m trying to lose 160 lbs how much water should I be drinking a day? Please let me know

    • Terry Givens January 20, 2015 at 5:16 am

Hi Heather. Take you current total weight, divide that number in half. Then drink that many ounces of water daily. 200lbs / 2 = 100ounces. YOU CAN DO IT!

  69. Robyn Feltman January 20, 2015 at 12:38 pm

I did this once before drank 96 ounces a day lost 40 lbs I 2 mths.I will do this I have a lot of joint.pain and my work keeps.me from drinking enough, lack of water affects , memory , brain gog, depression, overeating.I am 210 I want to lose 50 lbs.

  70. Susan James January 21, 2015 at 1:10 am

I juice every morning . Can that be considered as one the salads?

    • Terry Givens January 28, 2015 at 6:04 pm

Hi Susan. Actually juicing removes the pulp and fiber that you get from simply eating fruits and veggies. So for the Salad challenge, juicing doesn’t count towards your 21 Salads. Join my online support group and we can help keep you on track

  71. Todd s January 27, 2015 at 9:18 pm

hi terry I weigh around 476 lbs and I stay hungry all the time. I want to try this. At my weight your formula would have me drinking 2gallons of water a day. Not sure I can get that much in.
    Thanks

    • Terry Givens January 28, 2015 at 6:05 pm

Hi Todd. Start slow for sure. Give your body time to 1) adjust to the water, and 2) to not overwhelm yourself as your body detoxifies. YOU CAN DO IT! Join my online support group and we can help keep you on track

  72. Elaine January 28, 2015 at 4:53 am

i weigh 330lbs and am 5’2.heart problems, sleep apnea, afib, anxiety among other things wrong, just had a biopsy done on thyroid,no results yet,I NEED to lose 100+ and I have tried and tried, how much water should I drink daily for your challenge? Can’t afford to buy anything so was hoping I can follow your challenges for free.i drink a lot of water but probably not enough according to this.

    • Terry Givens January 28, 2015 at 6:08 pm

Hi Elaine. YOU CAN DO THIS! You need to slowly work your way up to 330/2 = 165 ozs day. About a gallon and a half. Be sure to add a teaspoon of pink sea salt to your water so you don’t wash out vital nutrients. Join my online support group and we can help keep you on track.

I took your water challenge and have now successfully implemented it into my everyday routine. I started Jan. 11, 2015 and to date (Feb. 20, 2015) I have lost 45+ pounds. Thank you for the motivation!

    • Terry Givens February 26, 2015 at 8:46 pm

    Hi Terry,

May I use Stevia (organic raw) in my water with my lemon juice? Thanks! Day #1!

    • Terry Givens March 10, 2015 at 1:52 pm

Hi Nneka. Try to skip the Stevia for these 10 days. Allow your taste buds to adjust! YOU CAN DO IT

  78. Bernie March 10, 2015 at 7:15 am

OK, day one of cleansing with the challenge. Looking forward to a good change.

      YOU CAN DO IT BERNIE

    • Bernard Loken March 12, 2015 at 6:52 pm

Day 3… Getting used to drinking all this water. Just have to time the drinking to refrain from drinking after 6PM.. Trying to get a full night sleep. Also need to ensure I am in arms distance to a washroom, or there is one at the place. Don’t think this will be an issue to get to 10th day. Already loosing a few pounds.

      • Bernie March 14, 2015 at 4:39 pm

Day 5. This is getting easier now. Looking forward to the next challenge next week, I mean in 5 days.

    • Bernard Loken March 19, 2015 at 8:37 pm

Day 10…. Completed… And lighter. Good thing I have finished as I need a small break for a long drive.

  79. Karema March 23, 2015 at 5:35 am

My daughter is in her track season…is it good for her to do the water challenge?? Or will it affect her.

    • Terry Givens March 28, 2015 at 9:22 am

Hi karema. The water challenge will help athletes have more energy and less injuries…do it!

  80. Kelly April 2, 2015 at 12:46 pm

Hi Terry. I’m from the UK and am excited about this challenge. Starting water challenge tomorrow. Question – what is 11 stone weight in water weight? How much water should I be drinking daily? Looking to lose over 2 stone and I’ve tried every diet going, but love the idea of a lifestyle change. Also, do you continue drinking this much water when doing the other challenges? Thanks and I’m excited to get started!!

    • Terry Givens April 7, 2015 at 9:58 am

Hi Kelly. I don’t know what a stone is 🙂 but drink .033 liters per 1kg you weigh. And keep drinking that every day if you like how the 1st 10 days feel. YOU CAN DO IT!

  81. Kelly April 4, 2015 at 12:59 am

Wow this is amazing and I’m only on day 2! I’ve lost 7 pounds since the first day (half a stone!) im very strict with the scales so I never lie. I managed 1.5 litres on day 1 (I normally went through the day drinking 1 glass of water and could go a whole day only peeing once or twice). So 1.5 litres was a big challenge! And my oh my did my pee a lot! I cannot believe my eyes when I see 7 pounds has just dropped off! Going to try 1.5 litres again today (though alcohol is going to be around later, but will drink water between beverages!)

This programme is amazing. I’m hooked already. If I can lose 7 pounds every day I’ll be over the moon!!!!

    • Terry Givens April 7, 2015 at 9:58 am

That’s awesome Kelly! You should join my support group online. Your energy is perfect

  82. Jason June 9, 2015 at 12:20 pm

Hey terry.. I was 298 day one ..I’m drinking a gallon a day with half teaspoon pink Himalayan salt..no lie I lost 6 lbs first day and 3 day 2 !!! What’s your thoughts on the pink salt ?

    • Terry Givens June 10, 2015 at 6:44 am

That’s great Jason! I take a teaspoon of the pink salt daily also. It’s essential for us high water consumers. Keep going my friend!

  83. Glenda Shields Stone June 25, 2015 at 10:30 am

I did the 10 day challenge I gained 3 pounds and I feel bloated and horrible

    • Terry Givens June 25, 2015 at 2:02 pm

Hi Glenda. I know it’s not what you want to hear but that does happen in the beginning for some people! Your body is trying to adjust to all the new precious water and it’s holding on to it. Once it sees that it will keep coming, the bloating and retention will end. Did you trying adding Himalayan salt to help with your hydration? DON’T GIVE UP YET!

  84. Michaela July 9, 2015 at 11:07 am

Hey Terry Do You Drink Just Water For The Ten Days ?

    • Terry Givens July 9, 2015 at 4:15 pm

      • Michaela July 9, 2015 at 9:53 pm

How Much Water Would I Need To Drink If Im 280& My Mom 460

        • Terry Givens July 10, 2015 at 3:57 am

          Hi Michaela. 280 / 2 = 140. 140 ozs for you
So how many is that for your mom?

  85. Christine Larocque July 9, 2015 at 8:14 pm

I am going to start this challenge tomorrow and I am excited. I was wondering if we should be drinking the water at certain times of the day? Ie 30 min before we eat only or have scheduled breaks. Thanks for your support

    • Terry Givens July 10, 2015 at 3:56 am

Hi Tiffany. Anytime that you can get it in is fine but 1. Avoid drinking while you eat (so stop 20 mins before you eat and start again 30 after you eat) if you can. 2. One tall glass right after you wake. YOU CAN DO IT!

  87. Auralina A Perez July 10, 2015 at 6:26 pm

    • Terry Givens July 14, 2015 at 11:08 pm

Hi Shana. If you’re going to start, start right now! And yes that’s that correct amount. YOU CAN DO IT!

    • Terry Givens July 24, 2015 at 7:28 am

Hi April. Believe it or not that’s pretty common. It’s only temporary though. Once your body realizes more water is coming, it will stop holding on to it, then the amazing effects will happen for you also. YOU CAN DO IT!

I currently weigh 230lbs, and would love to shed those pounds. I just have a very demanding job, so if have to carry a water bottle around with me. Great Day~ I’m starting the challenge on Monday with friends. I drink water regularly now. My question is, is there such a thing as drinking too much water?

    Thanks~

    • Terry Givens August 25, 2015 at 12:01 pm

Hi Janivea. Yes it is possible to drink too much water and flush vital nutrients from your body. Stick to the proper amount mentioned above and add sea salt to your water and you’ll be 100% fine!

      • sherry groves August 26, 2015 at 9:02 am

    • Lale September 28, 2015 at 10:01 am

I bet your doctor would be a great person to answer this!

  103. Hunter September 27, 2015 at 7:39 pm

    Hi

  104. Lale September 28, 2015 at 10:00 am

Hi. Just learned about your program from someone who completed it and looks AMAZING. I’m ready to get started! I’d like to know, though, how the challenges work. Do I do the 10-day water challenge and on the 11th day start the salad while continuing water? Please advise, and if it’s stated somewhere on the website, let me know! Thank you.

    • Terry Givens October 6, 2015 at 5:23 pm

      Hi Lale,

You can do this in any method you like (it’s simply drinking water, eating salads, cutting out breads & sugars)

    Hey Terry!
I just want to clarify a few things:
    1) I can continue to work out?
2)I am supposed to eat as normal, not like a detox (fruit and veggies)?
    3) I weight 223 pounds, so 1 gallon on water is sufficient, correct?

    • Terry Givens October 6, 2015 at 5:19 pm

      Hi Skyla
      Yes continue working out
      Yes keep eating
      Yes a gallon is correct

  108. E. Pablo November 7, 2015 at 9:00 pm

Hi Terry. I just finished day two of the water gallon challenge, I have 8 more days to go. One question, I’m diabetic and I weigh approximately 217, is one gallon of water enough for me?

    • Terry Givens November 16, 2015 at 8:37 pm

Hi Pablo. 217 divided by 2 = 109. A gallon is 128 oz. So yes! Join my support group and we can help you there!

  109. Al November 14, 2015 at 12:06 am

Hi Terry. I know I’m dehydrated and my health is suffering for it. I am slightly underweight and always struggling to put on weight. Will increasing my water intake cause me to lose weight or (hopefully) the opposite might happen?

    Thanks

    • Terry Givens November 16, 2015 at 8:35 pm

Hi Al. Drinking the water will help your body’s cells rebalence their function and do their job far better. So if that helps you to put more nutrients from your foods and then gain more weight, then that is what they will do. The only way to know is for you get to work. YOU CAN DO IT! Also join my support group and we can help you!

  110. bruce brown November 19, 2015 at 8:33 pm

    hi terry i weigh 189 or 188 should i drink 32 ounces a day i’m a male ?

    • Terry Givens November 19, 2015 at 9:38 pm

Hi Bruce. Your math is a bit off. 189/2 = 95. So 95 ozs per day. Join my support group and we can help you there! YOU CAN DO THIS!

  111. Alexis November 21, 2015 at 7:12 pm

Hi Terry! I’m 17 years old and I’m looking to shed about 40 pounds! I weigh about 175-180 depending on my meal intake. It’s odd. How much should I be drinking per day and do you think you could help me shed those pounds by prom? (May)

    • Terry Givens November 22, 2015 at 5:41 pm

Hi Alexis. I for sure think that you can lose tons of weight and have more energy. 180 / 2 = 90. So you need 90oz of daily water in your large jug. YOU CAN DO IT! Join my support group and we can help you along

  112. Linda December 22, 2015 at 10:30 am

I drink my vitamins and vitamin C in water about 24 oz each day will that count toward my water intake

    • Terry Givens December 22, 2015 at 12:10 pm

      Hi Linda,
Remember you fill your water jug up in the mornings and drink your water from that and that counts. YOU CAN DO IT!

  118. Janet January 26, 2016 at 12:29 pm

Terry – as of 1/25/2016 – I started both the water and the bread challenge. I am 5’6″ and weigh 211 – 2015 was a bad health year for me and I’d like to lose at least 60#.

Question: what are your thoughts on the use of the little crystal lite packets?

I’m so excited I found you. Thanks for the sound, simple advice and your hilarious sense of humor.

    Regards.

  119. Jo January 31, 2016 at 3:36 pm

Hi Terry I weigh 120 pounds and am very athletic. So I was wondering by doing this water challenge what results should I expect considering my weight and life style.

  120. Charlie K. February 8, 2016 at 11:29 am

  121. Michelle February 17, 2016 at 4:05 am

I just started my water challenge yesterday! I did another challenge where I logged my food in Fitness Pal for 21 days (still logging). I lost 15 lbs, but have stalled out. I was hoping the water challenge would help me get going again. I gained 1 lb and was researching if that was normal (I figured it was) and came across your website and FB group! So glad I did … I will finish challenge 1 (water) and move on through your reset challenges. Thank you for the encouragement on the journey!

  122. Josh February 20, 2016 at 2:58 pm

Hi I have high blood pressure and the doctor just started me on new blood pressure med because my old one wasn’t work as it should. Is it okay for me to add the salt in my water? Thanks

  130. Brian David Andersen April 18, 2016 at 12:05 am

When water has proper molecular structure, one gallon a day is not needed. Check-out my experiences at http://trivortex.com/hydration-booklet/

How much water should one drink? Read the free booklet.

    • Terry Givens October 20, 2016 at 1:38 pm

Thanks Brian. This challenge is NOT about drinking a gallon per day. It’s based on your weight. Read above

  131. Becky April 23, 2016 at 1:13 pm

I didn’t register but I’ve been meeting the water challenge for 3 weeks. I have much more energy and I’ve lost 12 pounds.
People will say it’s impossible to drink that much water but here’s what worked for me – It’s not about opening a bottle and taking a sip. Every single time I thought about it, I GUZZLED, I gulped water from a quart mason jar until I needed air. My skin is glowing too!

    • Terry Givens April 23, 2016 at 5:43 pm

That’s beautiful Becky! Please join my support group and keep sharing your progress there!

  132. christine April 23, 2016 at 8:25 pm

    Hello Terry 🙂

I came across the water challenge I would like to start off doing the water challenge. This is my day 2 of drinking 2L of water and I am hoping I am drinking enough…I am 175lbs.

  133. Kristen May 2, 2016 at 7:17 am

Hey. Im starting the water challenge today. My water source at home comes from my well. To do the water challenge do I need filtered water? I can go buy a brita tap extension if needed. Thanks

    • Terry Givens May 2, 2016 at 8:28 am

Hi Kristen. There is no filtered water requirement. This is my order of water preference though: Filtered Water
      Spring Water
      Distilled Water
      Reverse Osmosis Water
      Alkaline Water
      Bottled Water
      Tap Water
Garden hose and park drinking fountain water 🙂 …..But remember, any water is better than no water.

Good day Mr. Terry. My question is, will i keep losing inches from my waist line if i continue the water challenge, or is the inch loss only for the first ten days?

Hi Akudo. Your goal is to drink that much water permenantly. So as long as your body keeps washing away fat and waste – your waistline will slim. (Join my support group!

Terry I have a problem with low sodium I have all my life. I need to lose 150 pounds. Everytime I drink copious amounts of water even though I have at least a teaspoon of salt a day it’s never enough. How can I work this out without getting sick with low sodium how much more should I add.

Hi Terry, just gained 3 lbs after 3 days of drinking a full gallon. I am 180 pounds, Should I drink less or is a gallon ok?

Hi Gail. If you are 260lbs then one gallon is good (128oz). See above for how to calculate how much water to drink!
