I’m a strong believer that the message gets muddied as we take knowledge from the source and hand it from person to person. — remember the childhood game of Telephone: each child whispers the phrase they hear into the ear of the next child and at the end, the final kid didn’t hear anything remotely similar to the original phrase!
Each transfer of knowledge tends to take on the biases of the most recent person. And the overall impact is not nearly as strong (ever try to describe your favorite movie to someone and have them not be very impressed?)
The same applies as I try to relay the information that I have either read or seen or heard or witnessed or experienced or pondered through my BLOG entries. So, for those of you that are information sponges, like me, that love to learn any and everything, here is a small sampling of what I’ve read or watched that I think built the foundation for where I am today.
This way you don’t have to rely on what’s in the news or what your buddy said or what Terry said. Take all the facts and sides in consideration … and make your own decision (hopefully it will be slightly different from any one of your sources)
Good luck and happy reading…

This book will have knowledge and highlights from all of the below books/videos. This is the culmination of 8 years of nutritional, bio hacking, time reversing techniques & systems that I tried on myself and thousands of others through my blog. I describe the 13 Core Reset Steps and the 8 Reset Challenges that will trigger your body to “Grow Younger as You Age”. Get more energy, lose excess fat, have less chronic pain, turn back the hands of time! This is not about counting calories, voracious gym work outs – AT ALL. This is about a step by step system that anyone can master to rewire how your cells live and die in your body. Yes, you can reset your body’s clock and live a healthier, happier life.
1) Your Body’s Many Cries for Water by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj.
This was the first book that I read on health and nutrition. It helped me really connect on how to use water and sea salt to manipulate cell hydration and energy level. Amazingly I discovered a few hundred ailments and diseases that can be prevented using these techniques.
2) Natural Cures THEY Don’t Want You to Know About by Kevin Trudeau
I’m not a big conspiracy theory guy, but this book is so damn good at highlighting major, destructive, flaws, and issues in the American food supply. I’m ok with having a few conspiracies sprinkled in with my education. He’s passionate, he’s thorough, and he opened my eyes to more than I could have imagined. If you only have room on your plate for a couple of books, this is one of them.
3) Can We Live 150 Years? by Mikhail Tombak
Who knew the Russians have so much cool ass, natural based health knowledge! I SO love this book. It’s chocked full of home based remedies, almost ayvedic health and cleansing philosophies. The common sense and age old explanations of how our body systems work to extend life or to shorten it are nothing short of mesmerizing!
4) The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson
Want to make yourself better in any area of your life? This. Is. The. Book. Jeff takes one speech from personal development guru, Jim Rohn, and dissects and expands on the real world secret to why so many live less than stellar lives, why the few that live the life of their dreams dom and how they differ. The Slight Edge, the Compound Effect. Your job, family life, health, fitness, friendships will all improve after reading this!
5) Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser
This is a cool book to “scare you straight!” Understanding that our food system is designed to benefit corporate interests at the purposeful loss to the consumer is sobering and disgusting. Don’t read it just to get pissed. Read it to understand the system behind the scenes so that we can dismantle it. It’s important to know your enemy.
6) Eat Right for Your Blood Type by Peter D’Adamo
This book has shed a lot of light, for me, on how true it is that there is no 1 perfect, correct diet for all people. The authors do a stellar job of explaining, in total logic, why the food that gives one guy tons of energy and strength and life, will probably drain you of motivation and make you sick, and how to tell which foods are on which side of the coin for you, based on your blood type.
7) In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan
I just love Michael Pollan. This guy is able to talk about such an uber complicated topic – American food – and dumb it down into such common sense language. I could 1000% see why Americans will live overseas, eat seemingly the same foods – and lose fat and feel better; and why foreigners move to America, gain weight, and develop our diseases of lifestyle (diabetes, cancer, heart disease) with now APPARENT change in their diet. It will change how your feed yourself and your family over night!
8) Body Reflexology by Mildred Carter
I spent the first 30 years of my life thing Reflexolgy and the like were such hocus pocus and poppy cock, that only Carnies and Warlocks should mention them. Then…it worked to help heal my terrible joint issues – SOLD! This book helped me (the engineer type) to grasp mentally, how this could possibly work to improve someones health. Now, whenever I get a headache or back pain, etc…I can use these techniques, ON MY SELF, to help the pain dissolve away in record time.
1) Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead
The most positive, uplifting, FEEL GOOD, health documentary you will EVER SEE. Strong statement? I stand behind it. If I were to make a documentary, I would hope to leave my audience on the hopeful, triumphant high that Joe manages to leave us on with this film. I actually jumped off of my sofa, fist in the air, with a battle cry at the end of this one!
2) Super Size Me
This is another “scare you straight” source. As a guy that used to eat fast food 2-3 times daily, this helped me to internalize what was going on inside of my body, meal after meal, day after day, week after week. One meal wasn’t making me sick and killing me, but after watching this, I understand how it was compounding to take me out of the game if I kept it up. The creator of this film, that put himself through this punishment to demonstrate a point to millions of us – my hat’s off to him!
3) Food Inc
Another great film on the food industry and how living in America means 1) you can’t just eat the most plentiful foods, 2) faceless, nameless corporations are pushing profit over morals, and 3) we can fix it
4) Food Matters
I liked this one because it talked about cleansing. A subject near and dear to my heart.
