As a culture we eat based on the nutrients -vs- the item actually being food. There is more going on deep in the soul of a carrot than just beta carotene.
Just because something has the right amount of non saturated fats, calories, sodium, etc…But the item is so processed and made for shelf life it’s not digestible food anymore. It’s basically nutrients wrapped in an edible food-like substance wrapper.
